Baku Eye

Standing majestically along the scenic Baku Boulevard, the Baku Eye, also known as the Baku Ferris Wheel, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Azerbaijani capital.

Opened to the public in 2014, this modern Ferris wheel quickly became one of Baku’s most iconic landmarks. The Baku Eye spans 60 meters in diameter and reaches a height of nearly 200 feet, providing a stunning vantage point over the Caspian Sea and the rapidly evolving cityscape.

The installation of the Baku Eye is part of a broader initiative to rejuvenate and modernize Baku, aligning with other architectural marvels such as the Flame Towers and the cultural gem, the Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid. These developments reflect Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage while showcasing its aspirations and embrace of contemporary design.

As visitors ascend in one of the 30 air-conditioned cabins, each accommodating up to eight people, they experience not just the beauty of Baku’s skyline but also a quiet moment above the bustling city. The Ferris wheel’s strategic location near the National Flag Square enhances its symbolic significance, standing as a testament to the nation’s pride and progressive spirit. Incorporating the Baku Eye into the city’s panoramic stretch allows both locals and tourists alike to witness the fusion of Baku’s historical architecture with its modernist additions.
